Peep peep, Easter chick

Easter is synonymous with Easter chicks. These cute little chicks can be found in many forms as decorations on the Easter table.

Eggs are also synonymous with Easter, especially in the form of eggs for
baking and cooking.

We guess that after baking and cooking, you probably throw the eggshells away? You can, of course, continue to do that, but you can also use the eggshells to make these cute, little Easter chicks.

That way, you kill two birds with one stone – get Easter chicks for decoration
and eggs for your food 🐣

You will need

  • Eggshells
  • Yellow paint
  • Orange paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Googly eyes
  • Small princess crowns
  • The bottom of an egg carton
  • Optional: cress

Instructions

  1. Once you have cooked or baked with eggs, rinse and save the eggshells. Let them dry before you start painting. Alternatively, you can blow the eggs for the occasion.
  2. Paint half of the eggshells yellow, which is the base color. Then paint a small orange triangle as a beak, roughly in the middle of the shell. Glue eyes on above the beak.
  3. Glue the yellow eggs into the other half of the eggshells, which are still white, so it looks like a little chick hatching. You can optionally add a little bit of white eggshell on the head as well.
  4. Glue the princess crowns on.
  5. Optionally, place cress in the remaining eggshells.
  6. Place the carton nicely on the table or in the window as a decoration.
