What you will need
- 1 empty egg carton
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- A pair of googly eyes (or draw your own – no chicken-shaming here)
- Cardstock or glitter paper for the beak and comb
- Optional: some paint or markers
- An egg, preferably soft-boiled
How to make your chicken egg cup – step by step
- Cut the chicken body from the egg carton: Find one of the four corners where there is one of the tall "pyramid points." Cut the corner including the point out in one single piece. It is important that the bottom and the point stay connected, as it is exactly this shape that becomes both the chicken's body and the egg cup itself.
- Cut the comb and beak: Use red or pink paper for the comb. Cut three small points – think "punk chicken," but cute. Cut the beak as a small diamond that you fold in the middle.
- Glue the parts on: First, attach the comb to the top of the chicken. Then, glue the beak on the front middle. Glue on the googly eyes.
- Paint the rim of the egg cup in the same color you chose for the comb and beak.
- Insert the egg – and admire your work. Place the soft-boiled egg behind the chicken.
Voilà! Your breakfast table has been upgraded with 300% cuteness.
